Inspired by Kurt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse-Five”, “Vonnegut’s TiVo” creates a new fictious story with footage primarily from the U.S. invasion of Iraq. In this way, “Vonnegut’s TiVo” nears what Werner Herzog refers to as a “poetic, ecstatic truth.” (Werner Herzog, Minnesota declaration: Truth and Fact in Documentary Cinema, 1999.)
